Children continue to come into foster care each day, and there are times when a foster family is not immediately available. Many families are full, or do not have the beds available for additional children in their homes. When a family is not available, the children may end up staying overnight at one of the DCS offices.
One of our local DCS office has contacted Compassion Closet about a need for cots for the children to sleep on when they have to stay overnight at the office.
Compassion Closet would love to be able to assist to help provide cots so these children have a comfortable place to sleep while waiting for a home. We have also received many requests for twin beds, bunk beds and mattresses to help families who are willing to take placements, but just lack a bed for the child. We have already helped provide over 50 in 2022, and continue to have requests come in weekly.

– $125 will provide a cot for a child to use while at the DCS office
– $150 will provide a twin bed and mattress
– $350 will provide a set of bunk beds and mattresses
