As you prayerfully consider your donations this Giving Tuesday, the Compassion Closet humbly requests the opportunity to put your generosity to work serving the foster care community in East Tennessee. This year, we have a goal to raise $3,000 – which would provide a brand new bed for 20 children entering foster care. Unfortunately, referrals into foster care traditionally rise during the holiday season, resulting in an increased need for beds.
Why are beds important? Beds …
- allow sibling groups to stay together by providing bunks!
- enable a potential foster family to say YES to a child or children on short notice, regardless of the current set up of their home.
Once a bed is supplied, these children are welcome at any of our five locations to receive the clothing, toiletries, school supplies and other items they need – for free. Additionally, we will provide the foster parents with new toys and items they can gift the children for Christmas.
A gift to the Compassion Closet is certain to impact the life of a local child, as well as the family that opens their home and heart to them.
Thank you for your consideration.
